table Cypress coffee table with totara legs 670 mm long x 290mm wide x 270 tall

 This  coffee table has a cypress top which was  milled  from a large Cypress tree blown over  in a storm on my Dads property at Vinegar hill Northland.

The legs are made from Totara saplings  that grow  wild from seeds  continually dropping on to dairy pasture from adjacent bush & sprouting on the dairy pasture .  Without controlled thinning these saplings would take over the  pasture.

There are no screws or nails used in the crafting of this furniture,  all joints are mortise & tenon.  This stool is finished with orange oil and teak wax.

This one off hand crafted NZ made stool is another piece of functional art made in Pauls artisan workshop in Waipu,  Northland
