Rocking chair 960 mm long, front to back, 680 mm wide, 1150 mm Tall

 This WoodNZ Rocking chair is a ( MADE TO ORDER ) one off hand crafted artisan Rocking chair of my own design.

I have been making these  rocking chairs for over 30 years. They are beautifully balanced & can be rocked with both feet on the foot bar & the slightest amount of neck movement.

The whole  chair excluding the seat & actual rockers is made from Totara saplings.  These grow  wild from seeds  continually dropping on to dairy pasture from adjacent bush property's & sprouting in the dairy pasture .  Without controlled thinning these saplings would take over the  pasture. The  seat & the rockers are milled from Macrocarpa.

The seat has been scalloped out with an Arbortech to make it extremely comfortable even without a cushion

No nails or screws were used to manufacture this chair.  This stool is finished with orange oil and teak wax.

This one off hand crafted NZ made chair is another piece of functional art made in Pauls artisan workshop in Waipu,  Northland.
